STOP. Be Still. Wait.

Stop.

Be Still.

Wait.

.

It is in our times of stillness, emptiness and calmness that we are most creative. Too often we force things into existence, we keep ourselves busy thinking of ways to do things. Do you ever get that mental block in those times when you most need to be productive? Sometimes the best thing is to actually do nothing. Stop. Be still. Wait. Let the inspiration come to you rather than seeking it out and forcing it into existence, and let it grow organically inside of you.

.

This comes with practice and patience, believe me it isn't easy to do if you are someone who is constantly on the go! But from experience I have learned that sometimes doing nothing is the best way to get something done productively. When an idea, a solution, a creative thought, or inspiration comes to you organically, the process of completing the task becomes so much easier, more fluid, less stressful and sometimes more enjoyable.

.

Life doesn't need to be stressful, in most cases we create the stress ourselves. We CAN choose to stop and be still. We can spend hours forcing inspiration, ideas or solutions to problems to come, and stressing when they don't. Or we can choose to spend just some time being still and letting it come naturally, and still resolve the issue in the same time or even less.

.

Try it.....

Stop.

Be Still.

Wait.

*Photo taken at the River Ganges in Varanasi India during my travels. Through the hustle and bustle of the place and crowds of people, I spotted this man, looking out over the river....Still. What I didn't know at the time as I gazed upon him in awe, wondering what he was thinking, feeling and experiencing, was that that was the beginning of a new life for me, of slowing down and finding peace through stillness. I too would find comfort and clarity through meditation and it would become a part of my new life and way of being.

There was a time that I struggled to be still.

Now, I struggle if I don’t have time to be still.
